If you run out of matches, you’ll hit the SPIN button to swap out for new gems. The matches can be made in any direction, but only once per row so there is definitely a bit of strategy involved. You’ll start each level with 5 spins and you’ll get a line of gems at the bottom of the board. You then take the gems to make matches of three or more on the board.
